The Curse of 100 Kisses by FictionAddiction23
Cover and end page art by @arczism .
Tumblr media
Interior art by various tumblr artists (all credited in the bind.) Chapter 4 interior art by @nonmabozs (pictured)
Have I ever read a One Piece fanfic until this exchange? Nope. I have now read several. But it was a blast making this bind because I felt like I got to branch out of the general binding cliché’s I’ve been tied to. It was fun hunting down art from new artists and interact with some other binders that don’t frequent the HP scene. It was also fun trying to mimic the look of a manga book. The only thing I wish I had done differently, was to actually make it the same size as the mangas. Missed opportunity, but that’s okay.
Now that it has safely made it through the storms to the hands of ramblerreneebinds I’m sharing early (Anime Day is April 15) but I want the instant gratification of sharing this fricken awesome bind I did.
Bound for the #AnythingAnimeBindExchange hosted by @ramblerreneebinds and @bindsandvibes

Helix by Saras_Girl for the #slytheringuysandschoolsupplies exchange. It's an eighth year Drarry which is far more Christmassy than I realised on first reading but it's cute and lends itself so well to being turned into a textbook! No author is mentioned in the fic so I did a Wizarding World deep dive to find an appropriate magizoologist to name. I chose the colours for the frosty weather. The endbands are handsewn with a far-too-thin embroidery thread, so they're deliberately scruffy, and my second time using faux leather was no easier than the first, so there are no real hinges or neat corners 😅 still, I loved making this. My first affinity typeset (cut a little too close at the edges, first guillotine trouble), first time foiling the chapter headers, and first proper group exchange 💙 it made it safely across the pond to my recipient! I loved packing up the parcel with some extra goodies, it made me very happy 🥰
This fic is available to read free of charge on AO3. Permission was sought from the author to bind the fic. Keep fanfiction free!

How to Become Minister (5/?, ~24k words, Explicit)
Summary: Post-war wizarding Britain is struggling and the population is dwindling. It’s 2009 and Hermione Granger is on the fast track to becoming the youngest Minister of Magic. But power in magical Britain is precarious. In a second, Hermione's world comes crashing down. A marriage law is invoked. Hermione must pioneer it or risk everything she has worked for.
One way or another, she would be Minister. She just didn't expect to be doing it with Draco Malfoy at her side.
OR
If no one would let her be Minister, she was going to take it. And Draco Malfoy was going to help her do it.
Start at the beginning
Continue reading from last time (Chapter 4 and 5)…

Hey - not sure if you're aware but someone is trying to sell a binding of your fic on Etsy for profit - won't let me add the link in the questions but the user is called NovaBindery
Hi, thanks for letting me know, I’m aware there are several sellers on etsy and on instagram, tiktok, their own janky sites, etc. It’s a truly pervasive problem in our community right now.
And I’m tired of it. I’ve been urging people to keep fandom free for a while now, but it honestly feels like screaming at the sea. In the past few days alone, several dramione authors have pulled their works from ao3 and at least one has left the community altogether.
I’m not going anywhere, nor are my fics, but this abhorrent behavior is extremely disheartening. I started participating in fandom and sharing my writing because it was a fun hobby. So while I won’t be pulling my works, I can say that those who are out here commodifying my stories have made me simply want to participate less. It’s no longer fun if my extremely limited free time is spent reporting shops or fielding questions about commissions. I have lots of stories I’d love to still share, but it’s taking too much of my energy to deal with all this and then I find I no longer feel as inspired to write and share fics. When my stress relieving activity starts to become the source of stress, it’s time to pull back.
If you are a reader and you do come across these shops, please report them. Unfortunately, I have no other recourse that wouldn’t involve me revealing personal/private information and again, the entire reason I participate in fandom is to have a fun, silly time writing about two idiots kissing and to read others’ stories about the same two idiots kissing.
I sincerely appreciate all the lovely people who are trying to keep this space as free of monetization as possible. Thank you ❤

if you private your works on ao3, the fanfic pocket app does not show them anymore. i know it's not an ideal solution just a temporary fix since apparently the creator of the pocket app has expressed previous issues with apple's tos in a comment response. but it does get your work off the app. i tried it with my work and it immediately disappeared from the app.
I heard about that solution. I’m just....I don’t have the heart to do it right now. I don’t feel it’s fair to limit my audience because of this stupid app. I’m sure a lot of others will, and that’s fine if they choose that. I support that decision. I’m just not going to be making it at this time.
Fanfiction has the right to be seen everywhere, by everyone who wants to see it. My problem doesn’t stem so much from the app taking my work (although that doesn’t piss me off, a lot) but rather the profit it may gain from it. Fanfiction needs to stay free.

The Caretaker’s Guide to Keeping Castles and Wooing Witches by Flowerfem ( @flowerfemfluff )
Bound for TheBibiliophilicBindery for the “Draco and His Lovers (aka FebruDrarrymione)” exchange hosted by the lovely mrshighreeve_katy. This was the Dramione fic I picked. And yes, it’s technically a Christmas time fic, but is it ever too late/early for a Hogwarts Christmas love story?
I cut down my own 11x17 paper so that I could use the fancy pink. Printed interior art for the back of the paperback dust jacket (cause who wants boring white in February?) and painted the edges with pink hearts and gold splatter.
And yes . . . there is a second book hiding under there. Pics coming soon. 🤣
Read for free on AO3:

Quite Like Us by alarainai
Now that the final bind of this trio has made its way to the official owner - the lovely glorious gottabewolfstar, I can add them to my profile. These three were late 2024 binds for my 500+1 giveaway.
How it Happened:
Gottabewolfstar shares top notch art and fic recs. So when this adorable fic popped up on their story, I LOVED it. And me being crazy old me, I knew I wanted to challenge myself with typesetting and binding it. Gottabewolfstar was then kind enough to be *nicely bullied* into creating the beautiful artwork for the cover while @alarainai was kind enough to allow me to use it for my giveaway.
Fun fact. There are over 2,500 individual text messages in this fic. And I typeset every single one of them. It was fun. I doubt I'll ever do it again on purpose. And yes - my toner did in fact hate me.

Sweet Poison (cute notebook style) by damagecontrol.jpg
The goal here was to make the bind look like a custom moleskine notebook on the outside. The cutesy chapter headers as “study notes”
Bound for my dearest tome.turner 🫶🏻

🩸Contrapasso🩸by damagecontrol
This lovely quarto was part of my contribution to the Harry’s Dead Dad Exchange. Let’s be honest. I will always and forever bind damagecontrol.
This bookcloth was very difficult to work with when placing the HTV. I don’t think I’ll try this pairing again. The endpages are foiled with toner reactive foil, and the headers are stamps of where they meet.

Too Good at Raising Hell by @the-sinking-ship
Typeset and bound by me, and gifted for free to an exchange partner.
I tried to tap into the “ghost rider” vibe for this Halloween bind since Harry’s the less than straight and narrow, bad boy on a bike.
The homemade bookcloth (fabric from rockerbyedestash) gave me a run for my money when trying to place my chosen cover design, so instead I went all in on the dust jacket, end pages, and toner foiled title page and chapter headers.

hi fandom folks: I'd like to explicitly state that I no longer allow binding my fics for commission. No money should be exchanging hands where my stories are concerned.
My full transformative works policy is here. Thank you in advance for respecting my wishes and keeping fandom free.

Hello, I thought you would like to know that someone is selling PDFs of your fanfic on Etsy. Their shop name is azraelmorningstar, it will not let me link the posting but it is under "Remain Nameless by HeyJude19 - PDF DIGITAL VERSION" I hope you can find it.
Thank you anon. I've messaged them asking to remove it. This shit is really fucking disheartening so i am begging fic readers to please not purchase pdfs or fic merch and to politely ask these sellers to stop if you come across it.

Hey! alright?
I saw some people on tik tok with "remain nameless" in a printed book, I would like to know where I can buy it?
Sorry if I wrote something wrong, I'm from Brazil.
Hi!
I hope it's not for sale anywhere as i dont support charging money for fanfiction. I also hope the copy you saw was either handbound by that person or done through a fan binder for no profit.
